Ditch Witch’s SK850: The company's most powerful mini skid steer
Tina Grady Barbaccia | December 11, 2014
Ditch Witch’s SK850 is equipped with a 37-horsepower, Tier 4 Yanmar diesel engine and is the company’s most powerful mini skid steer. It has an 860-pound rated operating capacity and 83-inch hinge-pin height. The mini skid steer’s 74-square-inch platform and the ergonomic operator’s station have been updated with new, customer-requested features.
Dual-lever ground drive controls come standard, with an optional single-lever joystick available. An auxiliary control foot pedal helps operators maintain hydraulic flow to the attachment while freeing their hands to control depth and ground speed.
The high-drive track system has bolt-on sprockets that can be interchanged, an exclusive Ditch Witch feature. The track system, which comes with the choice of 42-inch or 36-inch-wide tracks also has a low-maintenance track-tensioning system with a grease cylinder.
The mini skid steer is built with reinforced steel to withstand the rigors of a jobsite and has a belt-free design. An auto-throttle function comes standard. When enabled, the auto-throttle automatically reduces engine RPMs when hydraulic functions are not in use. The engine returns to the operator-set engine RPM
